The Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes (Global Forum), the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank (www.AfDB.org) jointly published a new version of the Handbook on information exchange (https: / /bit.ly/3CovIgS), in order to support the tax authorities.

Information Exchange (EOI) is an essential tool for tax authorities around the world to ensure that all taxpayers pay the correct amount of tax.

The previous edition of the manual, published in 2013 by the Global Forum and the World Bank Group, was devoted to the exchange of information on request and the spontaneous exchange of information. This new edition covers a wider range of information exchange tools, such as tax audits allowing two or more jurisdictions to carry out simultaneous audits of persons of common or complementary interest, or tax audits at the same time. foreigner to collect information in a foreign jurisdiction. .

The manual can easily be adapted to meet the specific needs of a jurisdiction. It also provides checklists and various template letters to address the main forms of communication carried out by EOI units.

The French, Spanish and Portuguese versions of the manual will be published in the coming months.
