BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Town of Bend is accepting nominations for a new Central Zone Advisory Board. Applications can be submitted online and are accepted until 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 1.

The members of the Central Zone Advisory Board are volunteers, appointed by the Bend Urban Renewal Agency, to make recommendations on the implementation of the Central Zone Tax Increase Funding Plan. The plan identifies a variety of projects and funding sources (tax increase) to invest in the region over the next 30 years as it transforms into a mixed-use urban area where people can live, work and to play. See the map of the central area.

Members will serve three-year terms. For this first round of board appointments, half of the members will be appointed for a two-year term. Members’ time commitment should be three hours per month of meeting time, in addition to time to review documents outside of meetings, for the first six to eight months. After the first six to eight months, time commitments will likely be reduced to monthly one-hour meetings.

The board is currently seeking to fill the nine voting member positions. The board of directors is made up of the following representation:

  • Up to four members who are residents, business owners, landowners and / or designated representatives of the management of a business or landowner whose business or property is located in the district TIF of the central area.
